About

Hi, I’m Dana Schulte, owner and founder of Little Birdie Marketing, formerly Little Birdie Communications.

Over the past decade I’ve worked with small businesses, non-profits, artists, authors, and entrepreneurs. I’ve taught hundreds of people in person and more than a thousand online about digital marketing, including creating a website, social media, and writing for the web (currently available on Udemy). I understand what its like to run a small business and the challenges that come with it.

From 2001 to 2016 I worked in the non-profit sector, managing websites, social media, and email for the Allegheny County Department of Human Services and Shady Side Academy. Personally, it’s important for me to do work that matters, that has a purpose. I’ve always known I wanted to own a business someday, and once I started working in a field where what I did changed people’s lives, I knew that’s the type of work I wanted to do.

I started Little Birdie Communications in 2010 as a side gig, creating websites for local businesses and non-profits. In 2015 I graduated from West Virginia University with a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications, earning a 4.0 GPA and having my capstone project featured among a select few on the university’s website. I left my full-time job in 2016 to focus on my business full-time while homeschooling my son for two years.

My business has transformed over the years, but one thing has remained steady: I love helping people make a difference in the world by creating positive marketing messages.
